Open was an absolute ball! Thank you all those who came along to support. No one enjoyed themselves more than my Mollygirl. Here’s some piccies below.

Here’s Adam and I and Mollygirl going in for the group hug.

Here’s Hoppity Hop. My favourite buddie. Had matching socks on the day to solidify our friendship.

Chookie Dee on her best behaviour. Did see her sneak in a wine though! That’s just her “I didn’t do it” stare.

Had to put in the Mollygirl’s mushroom. Too much work for it to not go on show. Molly has been terribly good about not having it at home to play with. Bless your cotton socks my girl!

“The Gift”

Part of a very special moment in my life. Secretly hoping it won’t sell. Would look lovely at the new house.

Well that’s it for a while folks. Just a sneak preview. Won’t be posting again for a while, as we move this weekend and may take a week or so to get internet up and happening.

Just a small note. Loving life and loving the journey. Bring on the new house and all that awaits. Yee haa!

Chookie Dee Gigantor for September exhibition

Well, gigantor Chookie Dee is coming along nicely. Too give you an idea of size, her foot is as big as a size 10 in ladies. Legs are to be attached shortly much to the delight of Mollygirl, who seems to ask if Chookie Dee is finished everyday. Little Miss 4 year old thinks I’m making it as a buddie for her bedroom.

You cannot miss out this year. There are so many amazing artists (45 to be exact) that the organisers couldn’t even squeeze it into one weekend, they’ve had to stretch it over two!

If you just need an absolute VISUAL HIT of juiciness, go along to as many open studios as possible. I know my mind was whirling last year from just sheer excitement, inspiration and complete admiration.

And two very special ladies, who are dear to my heart, will be on show this year. Two gorgeously talented women. (And gentleman, if you’re not going along for the art, just go along for the perve, wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

But seriously go on line and print out your brochure and start highlighting. I already have. Thank God for the two weekends!

ON THE MOVE AGAIN…

This time for good…well…just for the time being anyway.

Found a gorgeous house further along the peninsula. Being north facing allows the most beautiful amount of light into the house. Here’s the pic of the future studio space! Choosing colours for future textile pieces will be such a delicious event!

Challengingly, though the move will happen smack, bang in the middle of the exhibition! Yee haa, bring it on! Two moves before the exhibition. Staying in a good place though, just not being too good with the blog posting. TRYING!!!!!!!! Lots still to do for the exhibition, then packing, and then hoping to put some pieces into an exhibition at Studio@Flinders…..

Currently feeling a bit run down, nursing a lovely fat cold sore, but enjoying myself IMMENSELY!

Will get down to the beach this afternoon for a 10 minute meditate. PROMISE!

Homespun – The Blue Issue with Chookie Dee

Now that we have settled into our new home, and my studio is once again operational, I just had to share the images in the recent Homespun magazine. Featuring an interview with yours truly and the pattern and instructions for “Chookie Dee”.

Have to admit, seeing my design and name on the front cover is pretty awesome!

Have decided that I am going to make a “Chookie Dee” for the up and coming exhibition but about 6 times the scale. Should reach above my waist. Cool! Will have to make an enormous sized chicken coop then too. And some eggs, some chicks, worms, oh goodness the possibilities are endless. Does anyone else find this amusing? Hmmmm what’s wrong with me?

Bye bye lovelies. Promise to update more often now that the moving is all DONE!

Been Moving…well needed seachange

Apologies for not posting earlier. Home sweet home was sold, and then the slow process of packing up and moving began. The house was the easy part. The studio… well that was a whole other kettle of fish! With the love I have for fabrics and threads and buttons and the like, it is quite easy to accumulate a mountain of the stuff in the eleven years of being in the same home. We are finally settling in, and expect to receive a new post in the next few days as I finish setting up the new studio. Have lots to report. Molly’s mushroom was completed for her fourth birthday! Yay, what a relief. Will post piccies of that one, and also if you happen to be in a newsagency, go check out the latest issue of Homespun-The Blue Issue. It has my dear little Chookie Dee in there as a project. Stay tuned gorgeous people…

Toadstool Love 2-Mollygirl’s Toadstool Fairy Playhouse

Well I promised myself this year that I would try to post the “process” as much as the end result. I get a bit carried away in the joy of the process and fail to record it. So before I go to far too far with my Mollygirl’s fairy toadstool playhouse, here’s some progress piccies. Hopefully will get it finished by her birthday in May. However it will be finished when it’s meant to be.

Was down at Wyreena gallery earlier this morning to do some further planning for our textiles/ceramic exhibition in September and was fortunate enough to enjoy the exhibition currently on show. Stunning paintings, textiles and jewellery by two very talented ladies, Meg Abrecht and Di Morley. Had the pleasure to speak with one of the artists, Di Morley (textile artist and jewellery creator.) I wish to thank her for her time in speaking to me and for both of them for exhibiting their gorgeous work for all of us to enjoy. I believe artwork in any shape and form is such a gift to us all. So please go along if you are to keen to see some very beautiful work. I wish you both well in the future.
